Tools

Here are a few of my favorite tools!

One awesome and inexpensive table saw made by Ryobi. I purchased this at Home Deport for about $80.00 and it was instrumental in the rebuilding of the cabin seats, cockpit floor etc. Comes with a stand, but I never out it together and had no use for it since this saw is small enough to place anywhere. Very lightweight as well.

Craftsman orbital sander, this tool was fantastic for getting medium duty sanding where swirl marks are not important. It has the stickem type pad and numerous grade sandpaper pads can be used. Very durable and inexpensive.

So I attempted to remove the layers of bottom paint with my trusty orbital sander...HA! Who was I kidding, I needed a big tool to get trough all that, not to mention grind the keel. Prices were staggering for a 7" grinder with multi speeds, so I turned to my favorite website....EBAY! This is a remanufactured grinder that came with a soft rubber pad and wrench..this thing will get through anything! I used the rubber pad with sanding discs and got right through the bottom paint..no problem! I then switched to the below attachments to grind the keel down nice and shiny!

BE CAREFUL...when this thing starts spinning ..WATCH the attachment at all times...I cut right through my work pants into my leg with the sanding attachment! My fault, I was not paying attention when I took it away from the bottom and it got to close to my leg! That took a while to heal!!!!

These are the assortment of attachments I purchased from Home Depot and Lowes. All useful depending on the project. The sanding pads the most useful in my opinion.

God I love these guys. These craftsman cordless drills are great, I had bought the 14.4 volt one years ago and the 12v is my fathers I used both of them constantly and even keep the 14.4 on the boat at all times. With a myriad of attachments they are very useful and have a great battery life.

As with all my Craftsman tools I buy the "Professional" series, I think they are better built and if something happens...Sears is great at getting it repaired or replaced.

Craftsman Palm Sander...this thing is PERFECT for all fine sanding, I used it and tons of sheets of sandpaper to sand the full ultra smooth without swirl marks...this thing keeps on ticking. I'll get a picture up soon...but it's currently on the boat!
